A FEW WORDS ABOUT CEREBRAL PALSY GREECE

40 years have gone by since the founding of Cerebral Palsy Greece. In these years C. P.G. has charted a successful and honourable course in the service of people suffering from cerebral palsy in Greece, with emphasis on their natural potential and their rights as citizens of the world.

Cerebral Palsy Greece has never isolated itself or the people in its care. On the contrary it has always tried to overcome the barriers caused by ignorance and prejudice and by building strong bridges of communication seeks to assure the person with disability’s place in society, by offering equal opportunities for experience and knowledge.

After 40 years this attitude continues to constitute the baseline of all our endeavors and at our Open Door Centre, that was inaugurated by the President of the Greek Republic Costis Stephanopoulos on December 12th 2001, our door is wide open.

Our first concern has always been to provide immediate relief to people suffering from cerebral palsy. Gradually, methodically, with careful preparation and scientific criteria we have organized and are operating a wide range of services and programs, all aimed at providing a complete as possible education and rehabilitation.

The “FOTINI” Residential Home is the most recent step in this great effort.
